How to Choose Your Wedding Music

Rachel Chipp

The music that you choose for your wedding day will become a strong memory when you reminisce about your special day in years to come. Music carries so much emotion and really sets the tone to the day, heightening the electric atmosphere.

The tone that you choose to set is up to you. You might opt for classical music played by a harpist for an elegant affair, you may want an angelic voice to sing you down the aisle and you will no doubt want a special voice to sing your first dance song.

It is your choice whether you find one artist that can tick all the boxes, effortlessly transitioning from tender, romantic love songs during the wedding ceremony before transforming into a powerful sound that gets everyone racing to the dance floor at your wedding reception. Luckily for you, we have many artists at Tremolo that fit that bill, including AstroSoul and Nick Anderson. These artists are both extremely talented and they adapt from beautiful voices when singing love songs to powerhouses that get the party rocking.

You could also opt for different artists for each point of your day that excel at one particular style. Organic Quartet are an experienced string quartet who play traditional songs that are extremely popular at weddings such as Pachelbel’s ‘Canon in D’.

They also offer a wide range of unique songs that you wouldn’t expect to hear emanating from classical instruments. If you share a favourite movie with your loved one, Organic Quartet can play music from The Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady, Twilight, Romeo and Juliet, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and even 'The Theme from Star Trek'! They also play pop songs such as Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’ and jazz tracks including ‘Strangers in the Night’ by Frank Sinatra which all allow you to put your own personal stamp on the day.

Some artists have a strong focus on a particular genre. Perhaps you want to pay homage to your roots on your special day with all your family surrounding you. James are an Irish band who play traditional Irish songs at wedding receptions, Andrew Rozen specialises in Chuppah and Jewish music for the wedding ceremony and canapés, while Mixed Bag have a strong jazz and latin offering on their repertoire for wedding receptions.

Perhaps you would just like the latest Top 40 tracks to get everyone dancing. In that case, a DJ would be a good suggestion. Main Entertainment provides a fun DJ wedding reception service as part of his wedding package after singing acoustic songs during the wedding reception and canapés.

All our artists have song lists on their individual wedding package profiles. Take a look and see what jumps out to you. If you have a special song that you would like your favourite artist to perform, get in touch to see if they would be willing to learn it as a special request. Our artists look forward to making your wedding day special and memorable to you.
